Apples in Winter

This still life of apples was painted by Julie N. Books when she was a high school student at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. It was her first attempt at making an oil painting, so she was suprised when it won a gold key (1st place) in the prestigious National Scholastic Art Competition. It was displayed at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. This image has been cropped.
